Luxtasia
Luxtasia is an 8 episode animated series following an astronaut after she is transported to the fantasy land of Eutera 37. Here, she and her brother, Austin, cross paths with a young sorcerer in training named Itiye who reveals that their arrival to this land was anything but an accident.
Luxtasia is a sci-fi fantasy world inspired by the folklore and fairytales of under-represented communities such as Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Yoruba, Tuvalu, Haiti, and Faroe.
This passion project consists of a series outline, pilot episode script, character designs, and environmental illustrations. It is important to me and my work that I am focusing back on community impact. Creating stories where we can amplify voices that have been underrepresented is necessary to our connection to one another. Creating a show that purposefully highlights stories that have been left untold with genres that have been used to both introduce new perspectives of human nature but historically have left these communities out.
The Land of Yetreya
The Grove of Yetreya is a character design project following a miniature kingdom in the forest and the characters that live there.
For this project, I was inspired by childhood games of make believe in which sticks, rocks, and bugs were transformed into heroes, princesses, and wizards.
